After owning and later selling a well-established painting business in his home state of New Jersey, Richard figured that launching a brand-new painting business from scratch in Salisbury, NC wouldn’t be too difficult. The year was 2007 and boy was he wrong! For starters, he didn’t know a soul in town. And to make matters worse, the country was in the midst of a steep economic downturn. But Richard Believed that all he had to do was get in front of customers to show how Richard’s Painting was different than the other painting contractors.
“My New Jersey painting business was basically turnkey. All I had to do was buy in and go to work,” he said. “With Richard’s Painting, I needed to learn everything from basically the ground up, including how to create a profitable year-round business, hire outstanding employees, generate free marketing… and do all of the ‘little things’ that keep customers coming back and referrals streaming in. Thankfully, that challenge helped me become a well-rounded businessman instead of simply a painter.
Fast forward 10 years and Richard’s Painting was the go to painter in the area!
